Golam Mawla Shibchar (Madaripur):: A press conference was held in Pachar Bazar of Shibchar upazila, Madaripur, protesting what organizers described as false and fabricated news reports against Bangladesh Railway’s legal leaseholders Md. Russel Mia and Selim Reza.
The event took place on Saturday (September 20) at 12:30 pm, organized by the Pachar Bazar leaseholder authority.
Reading out a written statement, leaseholder Md. Russel Mia said, “We have been operating the lease of Pachar Bazar for a long time after receiving it legally from Bangladesh Railway. Yet certain vested groups are spreading baseless and false information against us, creating confusion among the public and damaging our reputation.”
He alleged that some media outlets were deliberately carrying out propaganda against them. “These reports are entirely fabricated, false, and baseless. We strongly condemn and protest this,” he added.
Russel Mia called on the concerned government departments, local administration, and journalists to ensure that truth prevails and that no propaganda or conspiracy is allowed to disrupt the operation of the market.
Other members of the leaseholder authority present at the press conference also condemned the alleged false reporting and urged the media to present accurate information before the public.
